Kaskade | Photo & Video for the legendary artist
In 2021 my friend Kaleb and I had the opportunity to meet Kaskade surfing and do some work for him. This included capturing his sold out SoFi Stadium concert in LA and his Kaskade In The Park concert for over 5,000 attendees. Additionally, I made four TikTok videos for him that performed extraordinary well. In total the videos received: 364,000 views, 7621 likes, 1079 comments, and 1419 shares. These numbers were significantly higher than any video he had done on the platform prior to or since.
Strategy
As Kaskade is a world renowned American DJ, I realized that his fans likely didn’t care to see an endless stream of highly produced hype content, but rather that they wanted to learn more about the man behind the brand. Also, because much of Kaskade’s demographic is older, TikTok was a great opportunity for him to reach a younger audience. Especially in preparation for some of his large upcoming gigs such as the SoFi and In the Park shows in California. Additionally, Kaskade was one of the featured artists on Fortnite and much of those users live on TikTok.
Additionally, I got a variety of photos that Kaskade was able to use across his media. This included photos from the SoFi concert with Deadmau5 and a shoot for Kaskade’s merchandise line as shown below.
